    🍿 Nouvelle Vague, 2025 - β˜…β˜…β˜…

Cute and romantic. A pleasurable watch.

    🍿 Toxic, 2024 - β˜…β˜…β˜…

Well made showcasing a really problematic topic.

    🍿 Lu Over the Wall, 2017 - β˜…β˜…β˜…

Better than Ponyo I think. Ok ok. Different than Ponyo

    🍿 Ponyo, 2008 - β˜…β˜…β˜…

Nice watch. A bit more child friendly than I expected but I cant' complain. I had fun. Very similar watch to Lu Over the Wall which I watched yesterday

    🍿 Bacurau, 2019 - β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½

Besides the mediocre character that Udo Kier played this movie was a refreshing action movie to watch. Haven’t watched anything similar in while. Really nice watch

    🍿 Nuremberg, 2025 - β˜…β˜…

I mean what’s worth an Oscar nowadays? A mediocre to bad performance by Rami Malek, an ok performance by Russel Crowe and a story of a prolific event of humanities history?

    🍿 Mind Game, 2004 - β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

This is a remarkable movie. Probably not everyone’s cup of tea but. The ingenuity, creativity and innovation of this animation made leave the screening room with a pretty sore yet fulfilled mind. It was a visual masterpiece which didn’t lack on story or direction level. I was very surprised as I didn’t know enough about this movie or the director going into it. Right now waiting to watch Lu Over the Wall, the day after I watched mind game. Very impressed

    🍿 Marty Supreme, 2025 - β˜…β˜…Β½

I really didn’t get why the hype. Not a bad movie but far from a masterpiece. I won’t discourage anyone watching it. It was good fun. But just that. Nothing more.

    🍿 Blow-Up, 1966 - β˜…β˜…β˜…

Impeccable aesthetics. Found it more theatrical than a typical movie performance. I appreciated the experimental nature of the film and the portrayal of chaos. Can’t really see (yet?) the significance of the movie but we’ll see in the future.

Tomorrow is the first time I’m getting back a review of my photos from the last four months. I’m nervous. I did all kinds of stupid things for the sake of experimentation as I’m a newbie but I feel I missed the basics and that makes me kinda mad.

    🍿 Monster, 2023 - β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

Wholesome. A multi-faced story that highlights strong bonds. I felt that the different views for the same story pretty much reflects how a story develops from multiple people’s eyes in real life which usually doesn’t work on movies. Monster was an exception and this was a really good match with this approach. Liked the movie a lot.

    🍿 Tampopo, 1985 - β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

    A beautiful film.

🎡 World standard - Country Gaezette

I should not eat more sweats, I should not eat more sweats, I should not eat more sweats, I should not eat more sweats.

It was nice to have a couple of sweets for a bunch of days during the holidays, but I think my system is falling apart with all the sugar.

    🍿 Broken Vein, 2025 - β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½

Very realistic. I mean, a bit too realistic. I have seen people go through similar situations, react the same way (not to that extend but close enough). A great portrait of what being in deep dept in Greece feels like. Felt really anxious watching this film and i attribute that to the movie’s great direction as my psyche was immersed. I can’t finish the review by not mentioning two things: One, this is a classic Oikonomidis movie. The curse rate is through the roof so be prepared. Two, there were some times in the film that were a bit stereotypical and some others that could be left out. I don’t think the director did wrong leaving them in but there was a lot of opportunity to do more to elevate the film (by cutting scenes). I don’t think they were a missed opportunity but rather the movie had me β€œdirecting” on top of it which makes the movie fascinating.

🍿 The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, 1972 - β˜…β˜…

A bit fun. Not white amount. Supposedly dark comedy but wasn’t really funny tbh and I love dark comedy’s. Not a bad watch though.

    🍿 Kokuho, 2025 - β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

This movie is a masterpiece. As a westerner that is not attuned with kabuki it’s performance elements, this movie took me into understanding, to a minimum of course, of what this art theatricality represents. That makes the performances exceptional; to take a viewer that has no clue about an art form to “feel” a little of what is this all about. This was a long movie. A life story of Kikuo. It’s very tricjy to put a life’s story on film as it can get long and boring. In Kokuho though every single element selected was meticulously crafted and selected yet very detailed but not boring. I really liked this movie.
